Olive Growing in Mallorca

Olive orchards are common on the island of Mallorca but not to the degree of other regions of Spain such as Córdoba or Jaén. Mallorca is a protected region (PDO, or in, Spanish DOP). And within this PDO are three protected olive varieties: Arbequina, Picual and Morisca de Mancor. The latter, Morisca de Mancor, is indigenous to Mallorca and typically found in higher altitudes. It has ancestral lineage to the Spanish region of Aragon, and from there, Syria.
